How two strangers met online and made it to developing international education programs
Founders of Culture.World.Me, Oksana and Miriam, share the story of how the idea of the organisation came into being
Oksana: "One day I asked a friend of mine who is also a trainer whether she would like to organise a course about human rights together. She was busy at a time, but she told she has someone on mind who might like to do an educational initiative with me. She gave me contacts of Miriam."

Miriam: "We connected over online social media and started sharing ideas. We met on a couple of Skype meetings back in Spring 2015."

Oksana: "Both of us were interested in two different things. I had a passion to develop initiatives about human rights."

Miriam: "As a Theatre Pedagog I wanted to do something that would involve theatre. In the beginning of our collaboration, we both were uncertain of how Theatre could get along with Human Rights."

Oksana: "So, we gave it a try and designed our first educational project about human rights using theatre methods."

Miriam: "It worked. Since 2015 we have done 5 different programs on human rights using theatre methodologies. Now we also provide training for those willing to learn more about applying theatre methods in human rights education".
The main lesson we have learned was to trust the creative process and let it unfold into various educational initiatives organically. Nowadays, with our mentorship program we support youth who like to take initiative in developing their activities and events.
