What happens after you click

You fill in a short form

2 minutes, we promise. A few questions that change depending on which door you picked.

A real person reads it

Not a bot, not a queue you disappear into. Someone on the team reads every response.

You hear back within a week

Sooner if it's tied to something coming up. We'll always reply — even if it's just to say "not right now, but here's when."

Community in Amsterdam

If you live in or near Amsterdam and want to take part in our work, this is your door. Showing up is the entry condition; no application, no portfolio, no performance required.

  • Open rehearsals and story circles
  • Public workshops and labs
  • Friends evenings and community gatherings
  • Volunteer roles at the door, in welcome, or in light production support

You can belong without being hired and without performing trauma. You do not need to share your story to be welcome. You do not need to be a professional artist to participate.

Who this is for: youth and adults curious about theatre, story, and human rights, and neighbours who simply want to help a session run smoothly.

Internships & job shadowing

Practice on your CV, without being used as free labour. We only offer internships and shadowing we can host well: with a named supervisor, clear tasks, and a real learning plan.

What we offer

Job shadowing2–5 days
  • Observe a rehearsal, lab, or office week
  • Agreed learning goals in writing
  • Short reflection letter you can use for your CV or school
Internship4–12 weeks
  • One named supervisor
  • One named task area (e.g. comms, production, method documentation, community hosting) — not "do everything"
  • Regular check-ins and feedback
Erasmus+ traineeship / job-shadowingincoming
  • When a sending organisation exists and the placement fits our capacity
Research internship
  • Only with our ethics protocol in place: consent, confidentiality, no extraction of stories

What we do not offer

  • Unpaid full-time work with no learning plan
  • Roles where you are left alone without supervision
  • Tasks that extract participants' stories for content without consent

Other ways to collaborate

Youth co-author / rapporteur

Named, consented public writing about projects

Translator / language support

We work in up to eight languages

Access companion

Helps the room be enterable for everyone

Photographer / documenter

Under a strict consent protocol

Academic / practitioner lab

Peer review of the Quality Framework and methods

Municipal or school placement

Not only "youth internship"

How we select and stay aligned

Across all pathways, we look for the same things. This is what makes "our team is trained in our methodology" a checkable claim, not a slogan.

  • Alignment with our human-rights frame: dignity, participation, non-discrimination, access
  • Respect for consent: no forced disclosure, no extraction of stories
  • Reliability and clarity about roles and boundaries
  • Willingness to learn and to work within the Quality Framework

For facilitation and training roles, there is a required induction before you lead any CWM session. This is non-negotiable: it is how we keep the work honest.
